As of March 15, 2012 NYC’s Benchmarking Help Center is open 10-5 Mondays and Thursday. They can be reached at 212-788-9704 or 212-442-7901. If you call outside of those hours, you can leave a message and someone will return your call.

In 2009, the City Council passed the Greener Greater Buildings package. Local Law 84 requires all buildings greater than 50,000 sq. ft. to benchmark their buildings annually starting 5/1/11. Starting in 2012, commercial buildings' scores will be made publicly available on the Department of Finance's webpage, with residential buildings' scores to be posted in 2013.

11-7 Update from the City regarding Benchmarking Compliance

3-21 Update:
The City has notified us that they have received overwhelming concerns raised by property owners/management regarding meeting the Benchmarking (Local Law 84) deadlines on short notice of the rule publication. Because of thie the City intends to delay the deadline by 3 months by delaying enforcement and not assessing penalties for failure to benchmark.
